Leadership is the art of motivating a group of people to act toward achieving a common goal. We strive through leadership to continue to grow as a community with our hospital and keep everyone safe and healthy.
Andrea Randall, RN
Administrator
Andrea is the Administrator at Haskell Regional Hospital. She has been a resident of Haskell County for 35 years and considers Stigler her hometown. She takes great pride in being a fourth-generation Haskell County resident.
Andrea received her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Nursing, and earned her RN license in 2009, from Connors State College, Muskogee, Oklahoma. She has proudly served the community as a nurse through different leadership roles for the past ten years at the hospital and accepted her current position as a hospital administrator in 2019. Andrea serves on the Kiamichi Technology Center Advisory Board of Health Career Services.
Before her work as a nurse, Andrea successfully managed a business as a massage therapist.
Andrea is a proud parent of four children; two of who are graduates, and two who are currently active in Stigler Public Schools.
Shawnta Johnson, RN
Director of Nursing
Shawnta is the Director of Nursing at Haskell Regional Hospital. She stepped into this position in 2019 and has more than 20 years of experience in nursing.
Shawnta began her nursing career in 1999, graduating from Kiamichi Technology Center in Poteau, OK, and became an LPN. After 11 years as an LPN, Shawnta enrolled in Connors State College in Warner, OK, subsequently gaining an Associate’s of Applied Science in Nursing, and earning her RN license in 2011.
Throughout her nursing career, Shawnta has worked in many areas of rural health care. As an LPN she worked as a Med/Surg Staff Nurse, an Outpatient Clinic Nurse, Specialty Clinic Nurse, and then as a Surgical Scrub Nurse. After becoming an RN, Shawnta has worked as a Med/Surg Charge Nurse, gained extensive experience as an ER Nurse, and a Surgery Department Circulator. She has experience in Geri Psych, Case Management, as a Swing Bed Coordinator; and Infection Prevention.
In 2020, Shawnta, along with other members of the Quality Committee, was instrumental in leading Haskell Regional Hospital in obtaining its first DNV accreditation.
Shawnta is a lifelong resident of Haskell County. She resides in Keota, OK, with her husband Brad, two sons; Kade and Kale; and granddaughter, Blakley. Her husband is the owner of a tire business in Keota. Shawnta and her family attend Unity Baptist Church of Keota. With such strong ties to the community, Shawnta’s goal as DON is to make sure that HRH excels at providing the best quality patient care.
Cheryl Paulsen
Business Office Manager
Cheryl has been married to the love of her life, Marke, for 20 years (as of May 2021). She has lived in Stigler for 19 years, and, together, she and Mark have six children (three girls and three boys), and nine grandchildren (two boys and seven girls). Family is everything to Chery!
Cheryl was educated at the University of California Berkeley, earning her degree in Social Science. She completed the LVN program and was in the nursing field for two and a half years. Cheryl then completed her education to become a Licensed Dispensing Optician and worked in the optical field in varying positions for approximately 15 years.
Upon moving to Stigler, Cheryl worked for Movie Gallery as a District Manager for five and a half years, and then took her management skills in a different direction into home health, where she worked as a Marketing Director for four years.
Cheryl has been with the Stigler hospital for eight years, first employed as the Guest Services Coordinator, and then moving into various positions in the Business Office. Cheryl has been the Business Office Manager for the past one and a half years and takes great pride in her role at HRH and her community.
Dr. Mark W. McCurry, MD
Family Doctor Partners with Haskell Regional Hospital’s New Rural Health Clinic, known as HRH Medical Group – Stigler Family Medicine.
Mark W. McCurry is a Board-Certified family practitioner who has practiced in Stigler, OK, since 1986. He has served as the Oklahoma Academy of Family Practice President and as an American Academy of Family Practice delegate for Oklahoma. Dr. McCurry graduated from the University of Oklahoma Medical School in 1983. After completing a three-year internship/residence in Tulsa, OK, with the OU/Tulsa Medical College in 1986, Dr. McCurry worked as a volunteer attending to physician residents and medical students at that same college. Dr. McCurry had always aspired to working in a small Oklahoma town and his dream came true upon his move to Stigler in November of 1986, when he opened his family practice. Dr. McCurry has been married to his wife, Juli, for 38 years, and they have two, adult children, Austin and Wendi. Juli went to Oral Roberts University nursing school and graduated with a BSN in nursing in 1981. She worked as an RN in the pediatric unit at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa for five years before moving to Stigler, where she worked alongside her husband in their family clinic. Juli is, once again, working as a nurse with her husband at the new Stigler Family Medicine clinic. Dr. McCurry treats patients of all ages at Stigler Family Medicine, and he is also available for in-home and nursing home visits. You will also find Dr. McCurry working in the HRH Emergency Department on weekends. Dr. McCurry enjoys gardening, astronomy, computer programming, traveling, and spending time with his family.
